我們倒下過(guò)
那是我們自己的跌倒
我們 仁慈的上帝說(shuō)生來(lái)平等的我們
倒下得如此卑微
低過(guò)一戰(zhàn)陣亡的英國(guó)軍犬
低過(guò)夕照里 死去
卻輝煌站立于山野的荒草……
我們倒下的時(shí)候
沒(méi)有名字 沒(méi)有墓碑 只有
手環(huán)上泥血模糊的數(shù)字
我們倒下了 在一戰(zhàn)中
在列強(qiáng)交織的流彈下
耕讀傳家的頭顱搶地
“修身性 立高德”的肉身
無(wú)聲地消亡 霞光未現(xiàn)
那些英武的軍官
甚至沒(méi)有多看上一眼
我們站起了

中華骨血依舊

你詛咒我為“惡魔”
我當(dāng)然根本不是
你千萬(wàn)遍地重復(fù)你的咒語(yǔ)
我也不會(huì)因此成魔
誰(shuí)的惡魔都不是

From a fall of our own making
We who were born equal under a benevolent God
Yet our fall was so humble
Lower than a British military dog who died in battle
Lower than the dead grass standing on the hill
Which under the light of sunset, their glories they retain still…
At our falling anonymously
Without a tombstone only
A blurry number on a badge
Covered with blood stirred sludge
We fell, in World War One terror
Under streams of interwoven bullets, dispatched by the dominant power
Cultured and learned heads, tossed into the earth
Virtuous and principled bodies
Perished with silence, plunge into darkness
The arrogant military officers
Disregarded us without even a glance
We rise
This must be our own rise
Like a giant
Standing at the end of the dead land
Chinese bones and blood remain still
"Improve one’s self, then regulate one’s family, then govern one’s country,
then bring justice and virtue to one’s world!"
Millenniums’ ancient wisdom remains still
They are we, living in the past
We are they, living in the present
They and we not poles apart
Strongly behind us, our nation is reformed!
We were dragged into countless wars
So, we cherish peace particularly
We have suffered much discrimination
So, we respect others appropriately
We once led the world for thousands of years
So, again we arise with mission purpose
We used to walk in the night that was endless and dim
So, we are fond of every courtesy, every little gleam...
You curse me as "the devil",
I am certainly not by far,
You might repeat your curse a thousand times.
I surely won't become one.
Won’t be the devil to anyone
