西下夕陽云軌道。
夜綴香花④，更有仙女笑。
月里嫦娥歡舞蹈，
吳剛捧酒迎賓到。

Observation of Heaven①
Early when the sun rises Rooster would sing,
The sky is full of clouds, in gauze ②Qin E’s dancing.
The fire scorching flame burns hot in the air,
Hou Yi shot down Suns ③ passing the myth fair.
The sun sets down in west on track of cloud.
At night flowers scattered ④, fairies are laughing loud.
In the moon Cang 'e dances in long sleeve fine,
Wu Gang brings out nectar of laurel wine.

E, see allusion Riding the Dragon and the Phoenix. Nong Yu and Xiao Shi

① 1995年9月28日作于科羅拉多州丹佛市。作者第一次過丹佛市，是在1992年秋獨自開車去加州時。
② 科羅拉多州被稱為山脈州(MOUNTAIN STATE)，在落基山脈區(qū)內(nèi)。
③ 從加里佛尼亞州驅(qū)車至威斯康辛州全程2000多英里，要在4天時間里完成這段行程，平均每天須開車500多英里。
④ 豐田指日本的TOYOTA汽車。
2、Tune: Everlasting Longing
Passing through Denver City Again①
Cloud and mist mountains,
Smoke and fog mountains②;
Nine winding roads are turning after turning,
Trip is five hundred miles a day in driving③.
Driver conquers problems,
The car overcomes problems,
With strong will to drive through mount pass on Toyota ④ ,
Lodge and dining are receiving me in front, ah.
Note:

This poem was written at Denver, Colorado, on September 28, 1995. The
author visited Denver the first time was in 1992 when he was driving to
California alone. The poem is translated into English on Sep.13th 2021
in Kunming Yunnan province.
② Colorado is a MOUNTAIN STATE, which is in the Rocky Mountains.

It takes more than 2,000 miles to drive from California to Wisconsin in
four days. So it takes more than 500 miles per day to drive.
3、臨江仙·諸葛亮傳①
——今年春在美看中國84集電視連續(xù)劇《三國演義》有感
三顧茅廬求亮助，
草船借箭曹公。
火燒赤壁祭東風(fēng)。
周郎三氣死，
魂妒臥龍聰②。
孟獲七擒南遠(yuǎn)涉，
一收姜弟英雄③。
計攔司馬設(shè)城空。
星燈秋恨滅④，
遺志漢原中。

① 1995年7月29日作于阿罕伯拉市。2021年9月9日英譯于云南省昆明市。
② 諸葛亮的外號
③ 指弟子姜維。
④ 七星燈之滅預(yù)示著諸葛亮病危日夕。不久諸葛亮病逝五丈原，遺恨未能收復(fù)中原。弟子姜維繼承遺志，九伐中原。

The Legend of Zhuge Liang①
Watching the 84-episode Chinese TV series Romance of The Three Kingdoms
in the United States this spring, inspired and wrote.
Liu Bei visits the hut three times for a sage pursue,
From Cao Cao’s boats thou get loads of an arrow.
Fire burns on Red Cliff, east wind from an altar thou gain.
Zhou Lang died from three times of rage flow,
His soul should envy wise Lying Dragon②.
In south thou capture tribal chief Meng for times seven,
Thou take in Jiang Wei as one of thy disciple men③.
Use scheme of empty town to defeat Sima, thy foe.
The star lamp is out in autumn season④,
Leave a legacy, on Han plains forwards go.
Note:
① Done at the City of Abrahamia on July 29, 1995. It is translated into English on September 9, 2021 in
Kunming, Yunnan province.
② Nickname of Zhu Geliang.
③ Refer to disciple Jiang Wei.

Dying out of the seven-star lamp indicates that Zhuge Liang is dying.
Before long, Zhuge Liang died of illness and failed to recover the
Central Plains. Disciple Jiang Wei inherited his will and launched nine
expeditions into the Central Plains.
④ TOYOTA refers to The Japanese brand of automobile.
4、七絕·自題所攝魚兒照①
礁珊碧綠水清光，焰尾彤身箭落洋②。
撒網(wǎng)垂竿幽不住，悠悠淺底自由翔③。
注:①1995年6月19日作于洛杉磯。②焰尾彤身箭落洋: 形容魚身紅色、魚尾呈黃。游態(tài)似燃燒的火箭落入水中。
4、Seven-character Quatrain ? Fish Photo ①
Light is bright reef green and water clean,
Flame tail as arrow shoots down in ocean ②.
Cast net or hang rod won’t get it caught near,
Up and down fish glide over depths clear.

on Sep. 7th 2021. ② It describes the red body and yellow tail,
swimming like an arrow shot into the water.
5、一剪梅·紅葉
——1995年深秋同家人、朋友驅(qū)車前往威州東北角多爾郡(DOOR COUNTY)觀賞紅葉而作。
一片紅霞波滾濤，
霞舞輕招，
遠(yuǎn)自云霄。
近觀驚識赤楓搖，
火樹朱梢，
湖岸①如燒。
公主終將蕉扇 拋②，
難熄火苗，
撲了猴③毛。
幾時葉落滿寒郊?
風(fēng)吼蕭蕭，
雪漫飄飄。
注:
① 湖岸指密執(zhí)安湖畔。
② 指“鐵扇公主”的芭蕉扇。
③ 猴指孫悟空。下闋頭三句典出《西游記》。借喻葉紅葉落乃大自然之規(guī)律。其變化是不可抗衡的。何況這似火又非火之自然物，孫猴子借助“鐵扇公主”的“芭蕉扇”又奈得了何?
5、Tune: A Spray of Plum Blossom
Red Leaves
In late fall of 1995, I drove to DOOR COUNTY in the northeast corner of Wisconsin
with family and friends to view the red leaves.
Waves of rosy clouds are rolling,
Clouds are lightly dancing,
They are from heaven afar.
A closer look at red maples swaying they are,
Fire tree and vermilion atop dyeing,
The lakeshore① is burning.
Banana Fan② , the princess would hold,
She’s hard to put out flame,
Monkey’s ③ hair burns the same.
When do the leaves fall to the ground cold?
The wind keeps howling,
Light snow starts wafting.
Note:
The English translation of the lyric is on Sep.14th 2921.
① Lakeshore denotes the shore of Lake Michigan.
② Refers to the Iron Fan Princess’ Banana Fan.

Monkey refers to Sun Wukong. The first three lines come from the novel
Journey to the West. Red leave falling is a phinominium of nature. The
change is irresistible, though the fire is not real fire. What could
Monkey Sun do with the Banana-leaf Fan of Iron Fan Princess
