① 作于 1996 年 11 月 28 日美國感恩節(jié)。
② 指5月花號船(THE MAY FLOWER)。1620 年英國清教徒初次去美洲時所乘的船。
③ 自此“感恩節(jié)”食火雞成了傳統(tǒng)。
④ 基督教常把光源比喻作上帝之一種力量。這里指清教徒們初次在美洲新大陸開發(fā)創(chuàng)業(yè)，農(nóng)作物喜獲豐收，而向上帝祈禱感恩。

① The lyric was composed on November 28, 1996, Thanksgiving Day. It is translated into English on Nov. 25th 2021.
② It refers to the May Flower, the ship on which the English Pilgrims first went to America in 1620.
③ Since then, eating turkey on Thanksgiving Day has become a tradition.
④ In Christianity it often compares the light source to a power of God. Here refers to the Pilgrims' first development and exploitation in the new American continent. They prayed and thanked God for the harvest of crops.

任誠剛，英語教授，【海外詩譯社】副社長。1989年畢業(yè)于美國康科迪亞大學(xué)，系威斯康星大學(xué)研究生、旅居美國十四年。1998年回國在云南農(nóng)業(yè)大學(xué)外語學(xué)院擔(dān)任教學(xué)與測試室主任、云南省翻譯工作者協(xié)會理事、研究生高級文學(xué)翻譯等課程教學(xué)。發(fā)表論文50余篇。出版《韻譯天安門詩抄100首》《英韻周恩來朱德及陳毅詩選五十首》等譯著。
Ren Chenggang，professor of English, graduated from Concordia University US in 1989. He was a graduate student in University of Wisconsin and lived in the United States for 14 years. In 1998, he returned to China and worked at the College of Foreign Languages, Yunnan Agricultural University, serving as the director of the Teaching and Testing Office and is a council member of the Yunnan Translators Association. Teaching Advanced Lilterary Translation and other courses. He has published more than 50 papers. Translation books as rhymed versions of 100 Poems of Tiananmen and 50 selected poems by Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and Chen Yi etc.
