慧能（638-713），亦作“惠能”，俗姓盧，生于南海新興（今屬廣東）。唐代高僧，禪宗南宗創(chuàng)始人，佛教史上稱為禪宗六祖。Hui Neng (638-713), Lu by secular surname, a native of Xinxing, Nanhai (in present-day Guangdong Province). An eminent monk in the Tang dynasty, he was the founder of the Southern Zen sect, and was called the sixth ancestor of Zen sect in the history of Buddhism. (楊瑾 譯)
