Pan Su (1915-1992) was an outstanding female painter of the Republican era, renowned in the art world for her exceptional mastery of fine brush painting. Her unique temperament and remarkable beauty made her a prominent figure of the time. Her artistic life was full of legendary color, and her graceful yet resilient image is deeply etched in the history of Chinese art. 潘素原名潘白琴，出生於江南書香門第。自幼便展現(xiàn)出非凡的藝術(shù)天賦，家 族的文化薰陶加之她對(duì)繪畫的熱愛(ài)，使得她在藝術(shù)道路上迅速嶄露頭角。然而， 潘素並不僅僅以外貌和才華為世人所稱道，她所代表的是一位集美貌、智慧和藝 術(shù)造詣於一身的女性典範(fàn)。她的美貌曾吸引無(wú)數(shù)關(guān)注，但更為難得的是她能夠憑 藉繪畫，尤其是工筆劃，贏得專業(yè)領(lǐng)域的廣泛認(rèn)可。
Pan Su, originally named Pan Baiqin, was born into a scholarly family in Jiangnan. From an early age, she demonstrated extraordinary artistic talent. Influenced by her family's cultural heritage and her own passion for painting, she quickly emerged as a rising star in the art world. However, Pan Su was not merely admired for her looks and talent. She embodied a perfect combination of beauty, intelligence, and artistic achievement. While her beauty attracted much attention, it was her mastery of painting, particularly fine brush painting, that earned her widespread recognition in the professional art world.

This was extremely rare at the time and became the most distinctive feature of her artistic style. Her works, such as Spring River Among Cloud Peaks and Snow Accumulating on Pines, reflected her deep understanding of nature and her intense emotional projection. Under her brush, the rigorous detail of fine brush painting did not seem constrained but rather added a refined beauty to the majestic natural scenes.

Very few could reach the artistic heights of expressing such a grand atmosphere through fine brush painting. Through precise lines and meticulous color treatment, she infused her seemingly tranquil scenes with a sense of grandeur, allowing viewers to feel as though they were immersed in the natural world, experiencing the greatness of nature and the power of life.

Her Life with Zhang Boju
潘素的名字與著名收藏家張伯駒密不可分。兩人不僅是生活中的伴侶，更是 藝術(shù)道路上的同行者。潘素不僅在藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作中獲得了丈夫的支持，還與張伯駒共 同投入到保護(hù)國(guó)家文物的事業(yè)中。尤其是在國(guó)家危難時(shí)期，潘素毅然變賣自己的 陪嫁物品，幫助丈夫收購(gòu)國(guó)寶《遊春圖》，以免其流失海外。這種家國(guó)情懷和無(wú) 私奉獻(xiàn)，令她的形象更加高大。
Pan Su’s name is inseparable from that of the famous collector Zhang Boju. The two were not only life partners but also companions on their artistic journeys. Pan Su received tremendous support from her husband in her artistic pursuits, and together they dedicated themselves to preserving national cultural relics. Especially during times of national crisis, Pan Su resolutely sold her dowry to help Zhang Boju purchase the national treasure Spring Outing to prevent it from being lost overseas. Her patriotic spirit and selfless devotion further elevated her stature.
