Three Winter Poems
By Zheng Xianghao (China)
Tr. Zhongquan (USA)
Modified & recited by Mary(HK, China)

1. Seven-Character Octave:
Winter Essays (New Rhyme)
Unconsciously I was writing till midnight
suddenly I found the white flowers
flying outside the window.
with great ambitions I have served in the military area for many years,
I repose my homesickness with three cups of wine
The past has gone with the wind, and today I have new tunes with new rhymes.
Time has passed in a flash,
I chant a poem to comfort my heart,

2. Seven-Character Octave:
Winter Wheat
Gently swaying its tender gesture, drinking dew and eating wind, laughing foolishly and freely.
The roots are entangled in the dream
over the ice, the leaves are thick and are dancing in the flying snow.
The Sun God cares for each elegant plant, and the Jade Emperor shows mercy to their every day refreshment.
it looks like embroidered belt spreads over the fertile fields, and the green seedlings silently give birth to new poems.

3. To the tune of Linjiangxian:
Leisurely Chant in Winter(Hezhu style)
The jade stamens are dancing in the sky,
The mountains and rivers are covered with silver.
The crystal ice shoots are hanging in front of the house.
The snow plums are smiling with dew,
The magpies are making noises.
The rising sun shines through the window of my humble room,
I am enjoying leisure time at the balcony
The zither music is lingering in my heart,
Drinking tea and enjoying my leisure time,
and I'm happy to write poems.
